Pre-Christmas Update

Well it’s been many weeks that I haven’t been able to update my blog. One of my major symptoms lately has been not being able to focus and experiencing confusion.
This has been told to us by the doctors that it will happen. So I asked Nandor and Christina help me. We had a very busy last month with visitors to our home. My sister Christina and her family with my mom, my cousin Aniko with her family from Ohio and just recently I was happy to have Nandor’s parents and sister coming to visit from Hungary. It was neat to have three full generations under one roof. Our parents, us and our children. We also celebrated two birthdays in the last month Rebekah turned 20 on Nov. 16th and Jessica 18 on Dec 16th. This obviously required some shopping that I could only do with the assistance of a wheelchair. Lately I have a really hard time eating and drinking or keeping things down. I have lost about 30 lbs in the last month or so. We had what turned out to be our last visit to my oncologist. When he observed my condition he has concluded that there is nothing that he can do for me in the future and no other appointments would be necessary. God has again helped our family to arrive safely in Windsor for our annual Christmas celebration. I am receiving daily nursing visits while I am visiting. There have been many of my friends and family that make their way to see me in the last few days. It might just sound trivial and sounds that I am just repeating myself but God is so faithful and so Good to us He is our strength. Please keep praying that we will all see Him in His strength High and lifted.

  4. Thanks for your beautiful post, Miriam!

I so enjoyed our visit on Thursday. Your face was radiant with the joy of the Lord, and I was surprised at how well you were able to make conversation! As usual, you were telling me about the many ways the Lord has provided and blessed you this week, and how beautifully He worked things out so that you could be here for the holidays. There was not a word of complaint or self-pity; only gratitude and joy. You're a great example to me, as you always have been. May the joy of the Lord continue to be your strength. He has been faithful, and will continue to be. I'm so glad that our friendship can continue on for all eternity, even though now we may have to part temporarily. I would hate to see you go so soon, but I trust that the Lord in His wisdom knows best. I will not stop praying for healing, though, just in case that is His plan!! :)

    With Love & Prayers,
    Lorna

  7. Loving Lord, Great Physician, I lift Miriam and her family before your throne. How I thank you for her life, her testimony and the encouragement of her persevering walk before you. I ask that you would overwhelm her with a sense of your peace and nearness. Spare her from physical pain. Keep her mind clearly focused on you. I praise you that her faith is rooted in you. Continue to fill Miriam's heart and vision with glimpses of your greatness, your tender love, your majesty and the blessings you're even now preparing for those who trust you. Give her the faith to trust that you - the God who has been her joy and contentment through the years and who is even now carrying her through these trials - are the same Lord that is willing and ready to prove yourself as that Great Shepherd of her loved ones. Fill them with that same sense of peace and quietness in spite of their aching hearts. Precious Saviour as words fail, may your Spirit intercede. You Lord, are all powerful, all knowing and all good. In that confidence, and praying that you would continue to glorify yourself in their lives, we continue to commit Miriam and her loved ones to your care. In Jesus precious name I pray. Amen.

  8. My dear friend,

May Christ bless you, as you have blessed me! I just wanted you to know that we are continuing to pray for you. We pray for strength and mercy to keeping you going each and every day. You are most amazing example of a God fearing woman. I can only hope to please the Father as much as you do. You truly are the most positive, upbeat, encourager, that I have even known. I look forward to giving you a hug and seeing you very soon. Enjoy this beautiful season and all those loved ones around you. We hope to see your beautiful smile as soon as you get back. Have a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Take Care my friend!

    Lot of Love,

  12. Dear Miriam!

I hope you will understand me but now I would like to write in hungarian because I can write my feelings better in my native language.

  14. We don't understand God's ways so many times but we know that we can trust Him to carry out His plan for each of us. In the meantime He gives us each other to encourage and hold up during our stay hear on earth. He even provided us with His amazing "manual" the Bible, that he knew we would need to remind us that He has provided for us in every way. Most of all he gave us eternal life in our Lord Jesus! I repeat ETERNAL! We have it now!! But then you know that too. We'll continue to pray for His Peace that passes all "human" understanding for you, Nandor and the kids.
I repeat what so many have already said. That is, THANK YOU for encouraging us through your faithfulness to God in Trusting Him with your very life!

  15. Dear Miriam,
I have been praying for you too.
Your warm smile from your photo's give's me confirmation that you have that inner peace that goes beyond understanding.
I have sent you some music, it is the new release of my CD. All in Hungarian. I heard that you were in Windsor, and so I sent it to your parents home in Windsor. I hope you will share it with your family as well as Mom and Dad. I know that you also enjoy music.
I remember your gentle voice, and your guitar playing one Christmas that we were visiting.
Music can pierce all barriers. It is a universal language.
I hope you are still singing and making music,
even if it is in your heart!
Love, from the bottom of my heart.....Eva (your cousin)
